My cat actually does the same exact thing. Shoot him with my hand gun and plop – flat down. The follow up is “play possum, Bob” – rolls onto back with legs straight in the air. Unfortunately, my wife has been unsuccessful in actually capturing his act even though it is our standard shtick every night when I get home from work.
I can do the same trick, but it requires a new dog every time.
