Google admits that Youtube/Google Plus integration increased ASCII porn, spam and trolling

If you have multiple accounts the integration can screw it all up. I have a primary email account that I used with G+, but I post videos to two separate accounts related to subject matter, and I have a work email that is all official and stuff.

When they integrated G+, this was jumbled up, and very difficult to deal with. I’m still trying to untangle everything, and am considering deleting some of my accounts because it’s such a mess.

I watch a helluva lot of Let’s Play vids, especially mine craft, and those ASCII penises were out in force.

And it’s free. Legally so and creative commons licensed.

Even so, give Jason Scott money. He deserves it.

But seriously, I cam here to find a link to the ASCII porn pics. Anyone got a link?

Indeed, for all the crap that gets flug at 4Chan (most of it warranted), the concept of “sage-ing” is excellent. (Allows a reply post to be flagged in such a way as to not count it as an upvote (or in 4chans case, a ‘bump’ to the top of the page)).

I like the new comment system, Finally I have room to develop a thought! I’ve had some satisfying discussions, and a couple of arguements The ASCII penises and the chapters of mein kampf are bundled up into thumbnails that don’t take up the whole page, so who cares?

But I’ve got a big problem with being forced into G+, especially with the obvious lie that a real name requirement is supposed to clean up the comments. The real name policy has been disastrous for an unlucky minority of users on Facebook, which has always had it. While YouTube has been notorious for abusive trolls, Facebook has been notorious for bullies tormenting kids to the point of suicide… and it’s the ones who DON’T kill themselves are the ones you never hear about.

Google has made the world a better place, and for that they are entitled to make a whole lot of money, but these guys would never consent to make their computers as insecure as they now expect us to make our lives. Sometimes, it makes me rage.

Right now, it’s easy to get around this, but it’s short-sighted to assume that Google won’t be able to enforce this new law in the future. The right to be anonymous is mine, and it pisses me off to steal something that belongs to me. Now is the time to raise our voices, not down the road when you’ve been caught sneaking around.

What bugs me is while yes Youtube is infinitely more oft used than blogger blogger almost instantly got integrated… and nobody seemed to care (I volentarily integrated on the off chance I’d get comments but eh.)

So where was all the uproar then? People should have seen this coming!’

I know, someone tutting at somebody else that got in a wreck for not wearing a seatbelt… Sorry but I feel it had to be said. when they saw that and extrapolated but no, instead we have 'whaaaaa this came out of the blue

Add in a university branded google apps for education account and suddenly I’m having to log into my Open University VLE to like a youtube video
