Relax, Sarah Palin just solved California's drought crisis

“He who warned the British that they weren’t going to be taking away our arms, by ringing those bells, and making sure as he’s riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that we were going to be secure and we were going to be free.”

When that intellectual genius Palin said that undecipherable mess the GOP~TeaBaggers defended it as History, that should tell you what you need to know…

Only the crazy speak like this!

Hasn’t the ‘everyone is fleeing liberal dystopian California!’ thing been a claim for so long that the state should be more or less depopulated by now?

Oh. She’s still around?

I thought for sure she’d have forgotten to breathe by now.

Bloody socialists think the government should control the air, when everyone knows private industry is more efficient! Think of the savings the world would have if we just bought the amount of air we required at the quality each individual could afford from private companies. It really would be more equitable in the long run.

What she says is a sort of word salad that communicates via tone to her listeners that their unfounded biases are also held by experts on TV and therefore “YAY!” I honestly don’t think these people even bother to parse, but just catch key words and the overall tone. I have come to believe that there is a portion of the population that is actually pre-conscious in a sense. She “speaks” to them in their native language. If they can be relied on to vote loyally for their leaders then those leaders have a chance to get into power and do what they really want, which is accumulate power and wealth without regard for consequences. Triggering fear is a big trick in their bag. I think what has happened with Palin is that the Right’s leadership thought initially that she was among the insiders and they have come to see that she really is one of the unconscious. This means they have stopped trusting her and are quietly marginalizing her. Trump will be the next one to see this fate, which has started to happen over the last few weeks.

So let me get this straight. We used way too much energy from fossil fuels, which caused temperatures to rise and water reserve levels to drop. And the solution is to build more plants, use more energy, and burn more coal? All so we can make sure that golfers and private citizens don’t have brown grass?

This is some next level logical blinders.

Next up: she solves the problem of crime by making all crime illegal.

Problem solved.

I did not care for the autoplay, myself.

And don’t forget stopping the salt water from moving up the delta and contaminating ground water! Funny how the conservatives railing against “environmentalists” don’t mention that one. And I don’t think it’s so much about golf courses and green lawns but the idea that the government should never get in the way of unrestrained capitalism making use of natural resources, even if, in the process, they’re totally - and permanently - fucking the state for any sort of purpose in the future, including living here…

She has no clue, but I will credit her with getting me to google and learn that California actually is building hundreds of desalination plants, and at least if you trust the white papers the energy cost is less than a penny per gallon using my household energy rates. I hadn’t realized the technology had advanced this far.

It’s the “many worlds hypothesis”, not the “one other world hypothesis”

Every time i bother to listen to her speak about anything I keep waiting for a punchline that never comes, like she is a parody of herself. It’s uncanny the lack of self reflection that goes into just rambling of nonsense like she does.

This is a fascinating theory. And I think you could be right.

Sorry, I didn’t see anything in the embed code to disable auto play. But I didn’t look very hard.

I figured out that in the embed if you change “widgetId=1” to “widgetId=2” it won’t autoplay.

Here’s the very slightly modified embed iframe:

<iframe width="590" height="332" src="http://launch.newsinc.com/?type=VideoPlayer/Single&widgetId=2&trackingGroup=69016&siteSection=wonkette&videoId=29087048" frameborder="no" scrolling="no" noresize marginwidth="0" marginheight="0"></iframe>
