Probably most people know Fowley from having been played by Michael Shannon in the Runaways film. Before that, someone was doing a feature on the Runaways (it could have been the documentary Edgeplay, directed by Vicki Blue, who was with the group for a short time), and Kim Fowley agreed to participate, but only if he could sing his answers to questions, under the notion that they would therefore be songs and he’d get royalties from the use of his answers. Wotta guy.
