The targeted comics remind me of one of my first jobs, which was sorting mail. Junk mail that was obviously meant to be targeted to individuals would come in with the company's name. There was one envelope that had a cartoon of two women drinking coffee. One of them is saying, "[TRUCKING COMPANY]'s kid can speak three languages. Mine can barely speak English."

Is it bad that my first thought after reading the "targeted comic" was: "I wonder how hard that would be to implement?" Using HTML5 Canvas should be a good starting point ... hmm. I may have to play with this a bit ...
