Yoko Ono and John Zorn: Improvisation

I’m not sure I need to listen to this. The title alone conveys many expectations that I don’t want to be met.

being a fan of both yoko and zorn, the title alone conveys many expectations that might possibly go unmet. i recommend “pulse demon” by merzbow for anyone with a taste for serious noise. i’ve listened to it all the way through at least 5 times and played segments from it for my 6th grade science classes on occasion.

Reminds me when I listened to side 2 of the Yoko Ono Band. Drove my cat nuts.

Meredith Monk and Julie Tippet have been known to make similar emissions. Does it make a difference if I know that they can also carry a tune?

It makes it worse knowing they choose to annoy.

Not at all. Not even a little bit. Just, no.

Naked city is one of the all time greats, and Spy vs Spy is incredible.

(I promise, no jazz flute).

(I also very tangentially know^C met johns brother. I sold him an ennnooormous drum set)

I have a dear, dear friend who is an amazing noise artist. I need to get new copies of his work, I’ve scratched my originals to hell.

Parental Advisory: never under any circumstance listen to music I post
