kii-kitten’s pediatrician has a big pocket on the thigh of his scrubs where he keeps a stethoscope. There is also one hanging in all the exam rooms with the other scope, with the light, for ears/throat, etc. most medical professionals we see wear scrubs of some kind. Last time I remember a white coat was a doctor who seemed oddly dressed up for medical appointments. Some nice, but undoubtedly uncomfortable, high heeled boots.
I never thought about it, but it does seem like the stethoscope in a pocket became more common than around the neck during COVID.
