Anyone remember Paolo Soleri’s Arcologies? A high-school friend had a huge blueprint book of his designs in the 80s. and I remember getting my mind blown as I poured over the massive pages of plans for city-scale buildings. He started a sustainable city, Arcosanti, in the 70s in Arizona, and his foundation has continued to develop it to this day. I remember it sounding like a bit of a shitshow years ago, but it’s still around, so who knows.
