Same principles apply for animal based diseases… When you add in large monocultures (agricultural animal production, etc…) and close proximity to human populations you have a perfect set up for zoonotic and other diseases.
Honestly, it’s the same story. In our capitalistic efforts for short sighted gains, we have chosen options that may decrease costs in one area, only to find that those same choices increase costs in other areas.
