McCain said she was worried that Trump and his GOP apologists would give younger voters the wrong idea.
“Young people that are interested in conservative ideals only see this,” she said. “They only see race-baiting, and only the Trump administration, and what Republicans should be most concerned about right now, well, from my perspective, is what comes next, because we will be out of power. All politics is cyclical, and you’re going to have a bunch of millennials who think the entire Republican Party is — the person in charge, that thinks all communities of color are ‘infested.'”
Yes, yes… young conservatives are the real victims here… /s
Really?
I’m guessing that she’s really more worried that young conservatives and republicans of all ages are being outed for what they truly believe.
Definitely what her general position seems to be to me.
“If Republicans keep being openly racist eventually it’s going to be hard to pass off racist conservative policies as anything else!”
No shit Meghan. It should have already been harder.
If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck…
Maybe go back and read about how in the 60’s the party courted all the ducks to join.
No one is interested in “conservative ideals”. It’s absolute bullshit. There’s bigotry, there’s cultural allegiance to a political party, there’s authoritarianism and then there is this tiny sliver of the population who are educated enough to understand neo-liberal math but somehow not able to see through it who genuinely believe against all evidence that you can make a society better through deprivation. That last group is not close to 1%.
I hope they have a very “presidential” reception ready for him. Maybe they could borrow that balloon.
If people were really that interested in conservative ideals, they wouldn’t be pouring millions into sock-puppet groups on campus to catch them while they’re young.
Or using techniques also used by cults to keep them from questioning or leaving.
I held up my hands in innocence: I wasn’t responsible for the spread of fake news.
i wonder what ethicists would say of this professor’s class. analyzing lies is one thing; encouraging your students to make and - nudge, nudge, wink, wink - don’t propagate them, seems another
just ugh, in my opinion
Alabama is claiming that they have a “low illegal immigrant population” and thus will lose a House seat after the next Census:
Have they no shame?
(Narrator: No. No, they do not.)
That’s because while there’s some overlap on the Venn diagram, conservative != Republican.
Maybe if she’s so concerned about the horrors of today’s Republican party she should use her massive platform to do something about it rather than complain about how the Trump regime is making her look bad.
Perhaps they could find some Three-Fifths Compromise or something?
Trump is being roasted in #LostTrumpHistory for his self-aggrandizing comments about 9/11.
