But joking aside, I can see a scenario where a cow escapes in a loading/unloading area, and nobody has a horse or rope handy. Humans are slow, and motivated cattle not so much. If she could get a certain distance away and into some sort of brushy or forested area, she’s gone well before anyone could mount up and go catch her.
