A Round Up of Resistance to Trump (Part 1)

Absolutely brilliant.

Seems like Trump has lost the chyron-writer demographic.

EDIT: Maybe photoshopped, but still good.

And have some fine whine. It’s hard out therefor a pimp without his sugar daddy.

Nothing will happen unless the Democrats flip the house, and Ryan is retiring, so assuming Pence goes out the door with Trump, it would be the new speaker of the house who gets tapped for POTUS.

Yes - if it happens after the new people get sworn in. Beforehand-it’s Ryan. He’s still Speaker till the new person starts.

Slightly tangential, but still Trump-adjacent and also the “Weird Al gets a star on the Walk of Fame” thread is closed…

He says he thought his partner was in danger. But his partner told jurors he didn’t fear for his life and never felt the need to fire his weapon

Good on his partner for standing up, and not providing cover for the asshole. But what does it say about how much of an asshole the guy must be for the automatic protection not to kick in. That this conviction is an outlier says a lot.

I haven’t been out in the streets as of yet in this fight, and have carried some guilt. With two small babies, I’m torn between tending to their future and their present. Listening to the Mothers of Invention (great podcast!) about Standing Rock protests, a woman very graciously talked about her “privilege” in being young and mobile, an thus able to protest. It was humbling to me, and made me realize that while I don’t have flexibility (or any balls, frankly), I do have a small amount of money. Is there a way to “sponsor” a person on the front lines, or is it generally just better to donate to general legal defense funds for protestors? What are the best ones?

Thread:

Especially:

So get out and vote. There is no guarantee that the Democrats will regain the House or do anything with it, but if they don’t… that’s a guarantee things will get worse.

So. November. Polls. Vote. And stay ready for more.
