I fully expect to pay 100% out of pocket for my son’s education from pre-school all the way through post-graduate work if he chooses that path. It’s paying forward the gift given to us. It’s the right thing to do.

And if you were a selfish prick who cut off your son at age 18 I’d hope he’d still get those opportunities, because a student’s success shouldn’t depend on their parents’ ability or willingness to pay for an education.
