Amazon is full of Chinese counterfeits and they're driving out legit goods

I’d love to buy stuff from my Friendly Local Hobby store. I’m willing to wait longer, and I’d even pay a bit of a premium to do so.

But there are two problems:

  1. The service at the “friendly” local stores can usually be more accurately described as “surly”.

  2. It isn’t “a bit” of a price premium. For example, an RC transmitter that costs $60 from HobbyKing is priced at $300+ in the local stores. $2 props go for $10, $20 ESCs at $100, etc.

As I said, I’ll happily pay a bit more to support local retailers. But I’m not paying a 400% markup.
