Couple things.
A. Drivers of WRX’s are on average significantly younger and dumber (and importantly more Male) than most drivers.
B. Even those of us solidly above the age where insurance drops can still be very stupid manly men. I am not immune, so I bought a car that was just fun enough without being too fun. Not that I’ve never done anything dumb in it. (Hell, when I was 20 I got busted doing donuts in an Econoline van)
