Well, you could just be an employee if you’re the right sort of eagerly and positively motivated type, and it’s a good cause, right? If you don’t exploit the existing systems then you have no power… that’s part of why none of these intentional communities are taking off. You need to be able to buy land (want to save forests before corporations exploit them? Buy them first), create campuses (and who needs to give the assholes roads to where our campuses are?), and collect people (and who can do it better than a corporation?).
Basically: Hiring = Supplemental citizenship. (but better than any citizenship that I’m aware of…and only filled with people who pick it)
Think of it as min/maxing a really bad LARP that everyone’s forced to play and where the drama queens start with all the good stuff. You need to find holes in the rules that there are, not try to make new rules up that nobody will respect.
