I recently re-read Ron Jones’ Third Wave story, and what stood out this time: it was the mediocre students, the ones who were probably never going to shine socially, or at sports, or academically who really took to the Third Wave. They finally found something they were good at, and they liked it. Blind obedience to simple rules gave them a place they didn’t have before.
