I am reminded, as I am so often, that most of Silicon Valley’s “innovation” is completely worthless.
Given the level of stupid I see in App development from fresh-out-of-school kids who put zero thought into security or infrastructure, this doesn’t surprise me at all. They’re probably sending things plain text over non-SSL connections, because it’s easier.
Tinder, another darling of the valley, was sending user location data accurate to one foot.
The whole “app” space is a mess of garbage.
