It would be super interesting if the DOJ pursued Mrs Thomas and made it clear that the charges would go away if Mr Thomas resigned

So if it went to trial and led to a conviction the 6–3 Republican majority on the Court could overturn it, on the pretty legit grounds that it was openly a scheme of political extortion?
