I heard a story from a friend doing some radio frequency research. A shallow pool on the roof, used for testing antennas above water. Filled with potable water. Used for measurements. By some EPA magic the water turned into a waste that couldn’t be just let down the drain but accounted for and “properly disposed” at significant cost.
Or shutting down a mercury mine because there was mercury found in it.
Never underestimate the possible idiocy of a bureaucrat with a stamp and a power.
