Apple continues to flail about, selectively preserving their walled garden of applications. Funny how people defend it, they’d rather cling to DRM and the ultimatums handed down in the form of EULA changes and app bans.
But then again, the iDevices Apple creates aren’t for the user who wants to know what is going on “under the hood”, just that they can finger-swipe their way to the next distraction. Who needs to code, when so much drama is going on at Facebook, or via any other portal of consumption Apple endorses?
“Captured Computing” is their mantra, and every user seems to fall deeply in love with the idea that all the “hard choices” have been made for them. Really makes you wonder if people inherently want to be told what to do, as this digital serfdom implies.
Such a waste, every shining trinket.
