Apple's big iPad problem: How do you convince owners to upgrade when their old machines work just fine?

I’ll admit—when I got a first-generation iMac in 1998 (which I won rather than bought) I was a little peeved that it didn’t have a 3.5" disk drive. Seems a funny thing to miss now.
