) our daughter was very colicky, and we sought out white noise to help her and us to sleep. I still remember my wife and I both continually sitting bolt upright because we heard our daughter screaming, but it was just an auditory hallucination emerging from the white noise. Sleeplessness + new baby brain is a mindfuck. Amusingly, I now quite often think I’m getting auditory hallucinations, but it always turns out I’ve just sat on or leaned against “Violet,” the stupid talking/singing stuffed animal some evil person gave our daughter…
