My impression is that a lot of the GOP leadership knows it (Trump wasn’t their first pick during the primaries) but shuts up as long as they can remain in power. It’s completely craven. I keep wondering what the magnitude of a Trump screw-up will have to be before the GOP changes.
I’m putting my money on the 25th Amendment being invoked before Trump finishes his term.
