It wasn’t a nice move to post this on the day he died, seventeen years ago.
Also, he had no obligation to his fans, whatever you may think.
Interesting coincidence, but I posted it on May 10. He died on May 11, 2001.
And I happen to think frugal hobbies are a virtue, not a vice. Good for Douglas Adams for enjoying his relatively short life to the fullest. I’m grateful for what he did write. His last piece was perhaps his best:
