The total of physical US currency in circulation exceeds 1 trillion dollars. If Bitcoin is limited to 21 million units and actually does catch on as a global currency… well, it seems like a speculative investment that could have some legs.
The system seems sound for now, although, there’s always a chance that it could fail catastrophically. I do like that money is transitioning to the intangible realm of thought, that’s all it ever was.
