This is contrary to literally every single thing I’ve ever read about cycling on roads (despite the fact that the sidewalk is a comparably far safer place to be on a bike in like 99.9% of circumstances).
I mean, it totally makes sense that the police force would be more stringent about bicycle riding than, say ownership of semiautomatic machine guns.
For the public safety, right. /s
(We all know what this is really all about, right?)
ETA the PS, thank you, Gatto, for the added context.
Wheelies. Same thing I did as a kid.
In case you have not seen this, check out Black Earth Rising on Netflix, which gives a good look at how the French government bears some responsibility for what happened in 1994.
Michaela Coel and John Goodman are amazing in it…
I’ll second that: definitely worth watching.
I believe an anthropologist on here was talking about the dodgy history of the discipline. I find this horrifying, then I find the Move massacre to be utterly unfathomably evil anyway.
The institutions have held on to the heavily burned fragments, and since 2019 have been deploying them for teaching purposes without the permission of the deceased’s living parents.

everything about those murders is just horrible.
No one from the city government was criminally charged in the attack. The only surviving adult MOVE member, Ramona Africa, was charged and convicted on charges of riot and conspiracy; she served seven years in prison
at least with waco there was the theory that the davidians set the fires themselves, or that it was an accident due to the tear gas – the fbi didn’t deliberately bomb them, stall putting the fires out, and then shoot people who were trying to save themselves.
I’d like to report a murder…
Ouch. Burn! And checkmate.
that was amazing. plus this comment there
They’ll turn to per capita statistics. Montana’s low population will make the lie complete.
And, you know, when you say “per capita,” there’s many per capitas. It’s, like, per capita relative to what? But you can look at just about any category, and we’re really at the top, meaning positive on a per capita basis, too. They’ve done a great job.
Here’s some aloe for that sweet, sweet, burn:
Also, what is the correlation between extractive industries like mining and logging and the “right” to statehood? I’d like to hear what rhode island and other states have to say to the gentleman from Wyoming…
JFC, if this were in a satire article I would cringe and say it was over the top, but we just lived through it…
