I think this may be an unfortunate side effect of outsourcing legal work to entities that lack common sense.

When you pay someone to litigate on your behalf, I suppose you can expect them to litigate LOTS (so you feel you’ve gotten your money’s worth or whatever).
Whatever happened to due diligence?
Have you ever heard the expression
Never ask a question on cross examination to which you do not know the answer to.
A good lawyer does research (or more often than not employs competent paralegals do do the actual research)–because actual litigation is very expensive… Did the American Experience ever produce a film on nuclear power? Does the Fedflix description correspond with a US government film? Does the actual video match one of WGBH’s films?
