Yeah, and it bugged me that they didn’t even have to convince her of something so ridiculous for the scene to work, anyway…once she opened the door enough so that the shooter could see there were no witnesses in the living room, he could have shot her right there and Jesse would still have seen. She didn’t actually have to come all the way out onto the porch. In fact, the scene would have worked better for me if I didn’t feel like I was having to suspend too much disbelief at that moment.
And, it would have been easier to close the door and walk away, instead of leaving a bloody corpse on the porch or taking the time (and drawing attention) by hauling it back in.
