One reason there are close polling numbers is the number of polls done by GOP sycophants on select populations, so that the twatwaffle comes out ahead. Most of the people polled are republicans, and older republicans at that. When you properly sort your sample, you can get the response you want every time! Polls of a wider public show an increasing lead for Harris. Not to give the “it must be a death match or everyone will ignore us!” media conglomerates a pass.
