There is a photo in Murmurs Of Earth. I can’t find it on line. It shows a vehicle straddling a crack in an ice sheet. It looks like any movement would make it fall right in. A bunch of people are standing around, apparently discussing possible solutions.
In the book it is suggested that this photo was put on the record because alien viewers may have been in a similar situation and would appreciate the humor in the photo. So its sort of a psychological commentary.
