A small PSA:

Dropping or opening a TTF or OTF file will show its glyphs, and, more useful, its various stylistic sets and optional features (e.g. dotted or slashed zeroes): this latter information is usually difficult to find.

What do I do with that additional info?
Good text editors, e.g. Visual Studio Code, allow you to pass the options to the font rendering engine, enabling some tailoring.
E.g.: for me, Fira Code default “r” is almost physically painful to look at, but the typeface provides a rendering alternative.
