I’m honestly not sure why you’re so surprised. His “heroic” grandstanding vote against ACA repeal was because he disapproved of how his colleagues brought the bill to the floor, not because he had any sort of ideological problem with its contents. He’s as big on the deregulatory trickle-down bullshit as the rest of them.
