I really hope this is just a weird translation from the Danish. Otherwise, it’s just poorly worded, imo. Maybe it makes more sense in Scandinavian languages? Is there an ‘animal horse head armor with wings’ in ancient mythology?

is it an official Lego name? peeron is afaik independent and it sounds more like an hierarchical indentifier (Animal -> Horse -> Head Armor -> with Wings). bricklink calls the thingy horse battle helmet, more a proper name but with less informations.

Probably not. Bricklink uses the community-created taxonomy of part names and colors that was developed before Lego became more transparent with their internal naming. Official Lego part names tend to be more formal and technical. Compare the descriptions for set 6096-1 at both Bricklink and Brickset, which uses the official names available from Lego’s replacements parts page.
Unfortunately, Lego doesn’t list parts that are unavailable for individual order so the official name for that piece is still a mystery. On the plus side part numbers are molded into the Lego piece during the manufacturing process so there is a common point between the two naming systems.
Don’t know anything about LEGO horse armor, but I’ve got the paddock to put them in:
