Actually, I looked, even before you made that lmgtfy esque suggetion. Now, it is true that I lack the resources to follow all of the footnotes. But the information I sought was absent in the primary articles, as well as the non paywalled electronic citations.
I’m sure that the local library has some good books on the Spanish Empire. I’m not a historian of the Spanish empire, though.
But it’s entirely off-topic, in that NO ONE IS PASSING LAWS ON WHAT PEOPLE CAN OR CAN’T WEAR here in America. Someone calling someone else out for being clueless and even a bit hurtful isn’t the same things as sumptuary laws, or Jim Crow, or legal, violent, and system oppression. It’s just not.
