I love that these kind of shows are making a comeback. So far the range has been family oriented (The Floor Is Lava) to to oriented toward elite athletics (American Ninja Warrior- are they warriors who are ninjas, warriors who battle ninjas, or ninjas who battle warriors?). At some point we will be treated to the celebrities compete version, and that will be an unsustainable horror show that many will not be able look away from.
I also think the shows should be narrated like snooker (Mitchel and Webb Youtube clip).
