Designing "technology for women": a flowchart

Why? If it’s too costly to produce multiple colors, many of which won’t sell enough to recoup the costs of production, it’s easier for them to market a pink version “for women” and profit. It’s called Marketing 101, and it’s how people are convinced to buy such products. If you don’t like the inherent stereotyping of women and pink (or whatever other stereotypical “for women” change they make to distinguish the product from the “for men” version), just stop buying it. Voting with your pocketbook (wallet?) is the best way to change what products get made and sold.
