Pure caffeine is bitter, bitter, bitter. My experience with it was working midnights on a union job in the summer. Because I had no seniority, if no one else wanted to work overtime I got it and I couldn’t refuse. So I bought some caffeine pills for an emergency and kept them in my wallet.
Bad idea. Stuck in the middle of nowhere and working from 10 PM until almost noon, I took them out of my wallet and discovered they were crushed to nearly a powder. And I had no water. I could taste every bitter particle as I swallowed them dry.
I do not recommend.
