You may be conflating the Southwest portion of BC with the other 80% of the province, which has a typically Canadian brutality to its winter months. Google ‘Fort Nelson’ or even ‘Terrace’ for examples.
All that said, I grew up in Central Alberta with the full prairie winter to contend with each year. I did not and never would have so many winter clothes that they required a storage locker of any sort. The notion is absurd, even in a tiny apartment.
