I’m reminded of the imaginary ad campaign I imagined for an imaginary brand of jeans, called “Smelly Pussy.” The logo was a pussycat’s face. The tagline was “I love my Smelly Pussy.” For example, a hip young gentleman with a deep voice, hands in the pockets of his Smelly Pussy jeans, faces the camera, expressionless as possible, shrugs his shoulders and declares “I love my Smelly Pussy.” Then the narrator closes with “Smelly Pussy Jeans.” This was in the context of Generation X/1990s, when everything was ironic (or “ironic”), but for audio-visual reference, imagine the Dylan character from Modern Family saying this. (Or: Don’t.)
