The gold standard on that front is IUDs. They can have a high initial price (though lower than surgeries), especially in the US where they’re harder to come by. But they’re semi-perminant, fully reversible, require zero attention from the user, and Have very low rates of complications or side effects. Womens and public health groups seem to moving towards IUDs over handing out condoms and setting people up with low cost pills.
