He seems to have contradictory agendas if that were true. Source, please.
By the way, let me make it clear that I fully supported the protesters attempting to pressure Yanukovych into keeping his original intent towards closer ties with the EU. I consider that one of the rights of a populace. I also have no trouble with protests and sanctions, etc. to punish the unjust imprisonment of Tymoshenko.
But ousting an elected government requires a really high bar.
Yeah. I’m now totally confused. From other places online, I’d been hearing that Svoboda NEo-Fascists had basically taken over the protests, and that the new PM is more than willing to make pacts with them, yet BB (usually a good source for my tastes) keeps showing this as still a pluralistic, people’s beef with a brutal government.
I’m also wary because of how the international press handles protests against democratically elected goverments here in Latin America, where often you have very clean elections with clear winners who promote mild socialist policies, and then protests of elite neo-liberals claiming that the elections were ‘bought’ (with infrastructure or social security for the poor), and the international press heralding those elite protestors as brave everyday people fighting for their (tax) freedom from a dictator. Just like in the Syrian uprising, I have ended up totally unsure of whose version to believe.
