SCOTUS will go back at least to 16th century precedent, when speculating about the end of Henry VIII’s reign or his possible successor was treason, punishable by hanging, drawing, and quartering.

Treason? Maybe they should adopt the 2350 BC precedent (dated according to a non-credible source, Bishop Ussher).
