I’m trying to remember if burning the flag in a ceremony or something is still the appropriate method to destroy worn out flags, though…

The text of the law states that “The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.” Section 8(k).
