Not all saltwater crocodiles are man-eaters. It is only usually large males that take on something the size of an adult human. In any river system there are usually a small number of these large males.

That’s okay, then.

We were also told the simplest way to distinguish saltwater- from freshwater crocs: “if it’s coming towards you, it’s a saltie”.
