Four more cats die from H5N1 as new report calls evidence for efficient mammal-to-mammal transmission "unprecedented"

OK, this part caught my attention, and is pretty concerning. For any who have never heard of it:

Still no defined etiology, but the working hypothesis is post-influenza neurologic syndrome, especially since the 1918 pandemic flu seemed to have a predilection for neurological issues. If this thing is also neurotropic in mammalian systems, it could be very bad. Watching closely.
