Gel manicures lead to "cell death and cancer-causing mutations," says new study

“Woke mob” just cancelled finger nails. That’s still a good treatment for my ball-sack tho right?

If we’re constantly being warned about UV exposure when out and about, wearing dark glasses and skin protection, then it should be perfectly obvious that strong UV light used to cure these adhesives is having the same effect.

Same. I imagine soaking your hands for ten minutes or more in acetone a couple times a month isn’t great for health either.

I dunno your use case but I love the Sally Hansen “miracle gel” nail that isn’t uv cured in clear matte. I like that it leaves a natural look to the nail too personally but it lasts and lasts for me like literally nothing else I’ve tried.

I’m not sure the colorful or shiny ones get the same adherence though.

Thanks! I will have to check those out! I use color, so I will see if they match up to the clear!

Very good point. Especially immediately after you’ve had dozens of microscopic cuts made in the adjacent skin.
