The movie Renfield failed for me because of two mistakes: the CGI blood and guts (when Bruce Campbell gets a face full of demon blood and puss it’s funny because it’s real, you can’t halfway commit to the gag with CGI, man) and the unwarranted Ska hatred expressed by the characters in the support group.
Now that I think about it, the movie could have been hilarious if they’d done all the gore effects practically on set, left in the anti-Ska rant, and had a 100% all-Ska soundtrack!
