We have a problem with the non-standard characters in Canada that really needs to be addressed. Most of the characters used in First Nations languages have non standard characters and those run into problems with government databases. I have seen a few small steps of progress but also a lot of that will be expensive and/or take too much time.

I know this comment thread is probably past the point of no return, but I found this interesting/confusing from the linked article:
Grimes has not requested child support or custody rights, which are commonly filed with such a petition.
IANAL, but wouldn’t visitation fall under the broader umbrella of custody rights? I assumed visitation is what she wanted, so I’m confused by how that would not be a custody issue.
