I saw TMBG when they came through town for Lincoln. It was just the two of them along with metronomes and pre-recorded bits. It was a small club but was packed more than I was expecting at the time.
One of them, I think it was John*, said “Last time we were in town, we played to twelve people. We would like to dedicate this song to those twelve people… although I’m sure they’re not here tonight.”
Good times. Great show.
